The Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited welcomes Mike Komara for an evening presentation on euro nymphing and competition-style dry fly fishing techniques on April 15 at 7 p.m. at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
Komara is a member of Fly Fishing Team USA and a competitor on the U.S. Worlds Team, which represents the country each year at the World Fly Fishing Championships. He has competed in five World Championships — three as a youth team member and two on the senior team — earning team medals in four of them, including bronze medals at the 2024 championships in France and the 2025 championships in the Czech Republic.
A Pittsburgh native and 2022 Penn State graduate in materials engineering, Komara has been fly fishing for more than 15 years and competing for over a decade. He is now based in Carlisle, Pa., where he runs his guide service, Innovative Angling, full time, offering guided trips, clinics and virtual lessons focused on sharing the tools and tactics of competitive fly fishing with anglers of all skill levels.
Komara will share the knowledge and techniques he has gained through years of international competition and guiding on Pennsylvania’s renowned limestone spring creeks and freestone rivers.
The Speaker Series is free and open to the public. For registration information, visit the event page at tu.myeventscenter.com.
