Monroe County Conservation District and Brodhead Trout Unlimited Present an Introduction to Fly-Fishing Program

Have you ever wanted to learn the graceful art of fly-fishing for our numerous local trout in the pristine waters that dot the Pocono Mountains? Well, your wait is over!

On Saturday, March 28th, the Monroe County Conservation District and the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited will present their annual three-hour introductory program covering all the basic aspects of successful fly-fishing for trout, all geared to the beginning angler!

Join Tom Battista, Todd Burns, Eric Baird Will Daskal, and other expert members of our local Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited for a highly informative program that will introduce you to the bucolic, angling sport of fly fishing! Equipment selection, casting techniques, reading the water, effective fly fishing strategy, basic fly tying, understanding essential trout stream entomology, as well as actual local fly-fishing hotspots, will all be covered & made easy as “ABC” for you! An informative film, a PowerPoint Presentation and free raffle prizes are included with your paid admission!

The workshop will run from 9 am to 12 Noon on Saturday, March 28th at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, 8050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg, near Bartonsville. The nominal admission fee is a small donation to the KCEEC as follows: $8/Non-Members and $5/KCEEC Members and Children under 12. All participants will receive a treasure trove of printed instructional materials, including a listing of which flies to use, as well as local emergence hatch charts covering our major local streams; so, pre-registration by Friday, March 27th is a must!
